How to use Reparex: application, consistency and common mistakes

A practical guide to targeted application, protecting your surroundings and moving from daily use to maintenance.

Reparex care for men's hair

Check suitability first

Always follow the current packaging and leaflet for your Reparex variant. This guide brings together the product instructions; it does not introduce a different application method. Before starting, check previous colouring and the intended area of use.

The instructions specify undyed hair, a three-month interval after colouring and restrictions concerning colours containing copper derivatives. Time alone does not prove that old colour has disappeared from the lengths. Ask our team if you are unsure about your colouring history. Read Reparex and conventional hair dye before combining approaches.

Protect, apply and spread

Use the supplied gloves and protect clothing, towels and surfaces. Deal with accidental drops immediately as directed. Preparing the space first makes a repeated routine easier to manage.

Apply a small amount to grey areas on dry hair, close to the scalp at the roots. Adjust the amount to the treatment area as explained in the leaflet. More solution is not an approved shortcut to a faster result. Spread gently with your fingertips without allowing it to run; excessive application can cause an unwanted reddish tone.

Massage and dry

Gently massage the scalp with your fingertips as directed. After approximately three to four minutes, use a hairdryer. Do not wash the product out immediately. This is a separate product application, not an alternative way to shampoo your hair.

Start with once-daily use for the first seven to ten days. If grey areas remain, the instructions describe continuing daily use; once you are satisfied with the shade, maintenance is generally two or three applications a week. This is a routine, not a promise that everyone will obtain the same result by a particular day.

Choose the correct variant

Do not extend use to eyebrows, eyelashes or other areas. Stop use if a skin reaction occurs and seek appropriate medical advice when necessary. For a visual walkthrough, visit How it works; further restrictions are explained in the FAQ.
